§ 8-12. Slow, no wake zone.

  • It is unlawful for any watercraft to be operated within a no wake zone so as to cause a wake in excess of idle speed. Designated areas in which all watercraft shall be limited to a no wake, (idle speed only) are designated boat dock/launch areas and other areas marked with buoys (or signs or markers) designating same as a no wake zone. Areas hereby designated as no wake zones are as follows:

    1.

    All boat dock/launch areas.

    2.

    The canal connecting the bodies of water known as Offatts Bayou and Lake Madeline.

    3.

    The area between day-markers ten (10) and eleven (11) in the entrance into Offatts Bayou to day-marker twenty-eight (28) in Offatts Bayou.

    4.

    The entire beachfront from the shoreline to fifty (50) yards out.
