§ 32-21. Changes in designation—Streets, avenues and lanes.
The names of the streets and avenues hereinafter enumerated shall be as set out in this section:
(1)
State Highway 275, known as Port Industrial Boulevard, Avenue A, Water Street, and The New Strand is hereby renamed and designated Harborside Drive.
(2)
Avenue B changed to The Strand. The certain street originally designated upon such map as Avenue B is named and shall be known as The Strand.
(3)
Avenue C changed to Mechanic Street. The certain street originally designated upon such map as Avenue C is named and shall be known as Mechanic Street.
(4)
Avenue D changed to Market Street. The certain street originally designated upon such map as Avenue D is named and shall be known as Market Street.
(5)
Avenue E changed to Postoffice Street. The certain street originally designated upon such map as Avenue E is named and shall be known as Postoffice Street.
(6)
Avenue F changed to Church Street. The certain street originally designated upon such map as Avenue F is named and shall be known as Church Street.
(7)
Avenue G changed to Winnie Street. The certain street originally designated upon such map as Avenue G is named and shall be known as Winnie Street.
(8)
Avenue H changed to Ball Avenue. The certain street originally designated upon such map as Avenue H is named and shall be known as Ball Avenue.
(9)
Avenue I changed to Sealy Avenue. The certain street originally designated upon such map as Avenue I is named and shall be known as Sealy Avenue.
(10)
Avenue J changed to Broadway. The certain street originally designated upon such map as Avenue J is named and shall be known as Broadway.
(11)
Avenue N changed to Ursuline Avenue. The certain street originally designated upon such map as Avenue N is named and shall be known as Ursuline Avenue.
(12)
Avenue O½ changed to Lafitte Avenue. The street heretofore designated on the subdivision plat as South Avenue O½, between 56th Street and 58th Street, is named and shall be known as Lafitte Avenue.

Avenue P½ changed to Video Lane. The street originally designated on the map of the Galveston city company as Avenue P½, between 44th Street and 45th Street, is named and shall be known as Video Lane.

21st Street changed to Moody Avenue. The certain street originally designated upon such map as 21st Street is named and shall be known as Moody Avenue.
(15)
22nd Street to Kempner Avenue. The certain street originally designated upon such map as 22nd Street is named and shall be known as Kempner Avenue.
(16)
23rd Street changed to Tremont Street. The certain street originally designated upon such map as 23rd Street is named and shall be known as Tremont Street.
(17)
25th Street changed to Rosenberg Avenue. The certain street originally designated upon such map as 25th Street is named and shall be known as Rosenberg Avenue.
(18)
4th Street changed to Holiday Drive. The certain street originally designated upon such map as 4th Street is named and shall be known as Holiday Drive.
(19)
6th Street (North Boulevard) changed to University Boulevard. That certain street originally designated upon the map of the Galveston city company as 6th Street and also known as North Boulevard is named and shall be known and designated as University Boulevard.
(20)
Major thoroughfare north of University of Texas Medical Branch designated The Strand. That certain major thoroughfare lying north of and adjacent to the University of Texas Medical Branch from 13th Street eastward to Ferry Road is hereby designated and named as The Strand.
(21)
The Strand (Avenue B) from 12th Street eastward to 1st Street changed to Texas Avenue. That certain street heretofore named The Strand (Avenue B) from 12th Street eastward to 1st Street is hereby designated and named as Texas Avenue.
(22)
79th Street from Seawall Boulevard to Beluche Drive changed to Dominique Drive. That certain street originally designated upon Trimble and Lidsey Survey Section 1 as 79th Street from the north right-of-way line of Seawall Boulevard to the south right-of-way line of Beluche Drive is named and shall be known and designated as Dominique Drive.

2200 block of Postoffice Street. The 2200 block of the certain street designated by subsection (5) of this section as Postoffice Street is named and shall be known as Central Plaza.
(24)
51st Street north of Broadway changed to Seawolf Parkway. That certain street originally designated upon such map as 51st Street is, north of Broadway, named and shall be known as Seawolf Parkway.
(25)
29th Street from Seawall Boulevard to Avenue A changed to Martin Luther King Boulevard. 29th Street from Seawall Boulevard to Avenue A is hereby renamed Martin Luther King Boulevard.
(26)
Avenue P from 57th Street to Seawall changed to Bernardo de Galvez Avenue. Avenue P, from 57th Street east to Seawall Boulevard, is hereby renamed and redesignated Bernardo de Galvez Avenue.
(27)
39th Street changed to Mike Gaido Boulevard. That certain street originally designated upon such map as 39th Street is hereby renamed and redesignated as Mike Gaido Boulevard.
(28)
14th Street from the Bay to the Seawall changed to Christopher Columbus Boulevard. That certain street originally designated upon such map as 14th Street, from the Bay to the Seawall, is hereby renamed and redesignated as Christopher Columbus Boulevard.
(29)
53rd Street changed to Mary Moody Northern Boulevard. That certain street originally designated upon the maps of the city as 53rd Street is hereby renamed and redesignated as Mary Moody Northern Boulevard.
(30)
8th Street also designated as St. Mary's Boulevard. That street originally designated upon such map as 8th Street is hereby also designated as St. Mary's Boulevard.
(31)
Mechanic Street from 23rd Street to 24th Street. Mechanic Street (Avenue C) between 23rd and 24th Streets is hereby renamed and redesignated as Ship's Mechanic Row.
(32)
13th Street to Chataignon Place and 13th Street. That certain street originally designated upon such map as 13th Street at Avenue I to the mid-line of the first alley south of Avenue J is hereby renamed and redesignated as Chataignon Place and 13th Street.
(33)
Avenue O½ between 68th Street and 69th Street to Furlong Way and Avenue O½. That section of Avenue O½ between 68th Street and 69th Street is hereby given an honorary name of Furlong Way. The name of that portion of said Street shall remain Avenue O½ for all official purposes including postal department purposes.

Farm-To-Farm Market Road 3005, San Luis Pass Road, Termini Road, and Termini-San Luis Pass Road renamed Termini-San Luis Pass Road. Farm-To-Market Road 3005, San Luis Pass Road, Termini Road, and Termini-San Luis Pass Road from 103rd Street to the Vasek Bridge at San Luis Pass is hereby renamed Termini-San Luis Pass Road.

State Highway 168 between Ferry Road and U.S. Coast Guard Base named Blackthorn Memorial Drive. State Highway 168 between Ferry Road and the United States Coast Guard Base is hereby named and designated Blackthorn Memorial Drive.

10th Street between Seawall Boulevard and Avenue M is hereby renamed and designated as 10th Street—Bertolino's View.
(37)
34th Street between Broadway (Avenue J) and Avenue K is hereby renamed and designated as 34th Street/B. Ganter's Way.
(38)
McNeil Lane, a street located approximately seventy-five (75) feet west of 30th Street and extends from Avenue N Southward, is hereby renamed and designated J. H. Clouser Lane.
(39)
Shell Oil, a road located on Pelican Island, running north and south of Seawolf Parkway and located between Pennzoil Road and Seawolf Park, is hereby renamed and designated Coastwide Drive.
(40)
Beluche Drive, that portion west of 81st Street and running adjacent to Bernard Davis Pony Colt Stadium, is hereby renamed and designated Frank Giusti Drive.
(41)
20th Street, that portion between Church Street and Winnie Street, is hereby renamed and designated 20th Street-O'Connell Place.
(42)
Texas Avenue, that portion between 10th Street and 13th Street, is hereby renamed and designated The Strand.
(43)
24th Street between Broadway Boulevard and Harborside is changed to 24th-Mitchell Street.
(44)
41st Street , entire length, is hereby renamed by adding the name Jack Johnson Boulevard.
(45)
57 th Street from Seawall Boulevard to Maco Avenue (Street). 57 th Street from Seawall Boulevard to Maco Avenue (Street) is hereby renamed and designated as 57 th Street-Leroy Colombo's View.
(46)
Postoffice Street. Postoffice Street from 27th Street to 30th Street is hereby renamed by adding the name "Alfreda Houston Place."
