§ 20.5-8. Physical requirements.

  • (a)

    Should a casualty or accident destroy or damage a nonstructural, decorative portion of any float or floats within such period of time before a parade such that repair or replacement by the exercise of due diligence is not feasible or practical, the said float or floats, if no unsafe or unsightly condition exists, may be used in the parade for which it is scheduled.

    (b)

    No minifloat shall carry more than nine (9) maskers.

    (c)

    Floats shall be a minimum of twenty (20) feet long, a maximum of sixty (60) feet long, a minimum of nine (9) feet wide and a maximum of sixteen (16) feet high, exclusive of animation. Measurement shall be taken d from the street level. Notwithstanding any other procession in this section no float shall have a minimum turning radius which exceeds fifty-five (55) feet. The city's traffic superintendent may grant a height exception provided the request is submitted to the City Manager or his/her designee and approved no later than thirty (30) days prior to the parade.

    (d)

    Minifloats shall be a maximum of twenty (20) feet long and a maximum of nine (9) feet wide which may or may not have a platform used to carry maskers.
