§ 20.5-3. Parade routes.

(a)

Length of parade route. The maximum length of any Mardi Gras parade route, for parades including one or more marching units, shall not exceed four (4) miles, exclusive of formation and disbanding areas and shall not exceed three hours.

(b)

Special conditions. All parade routes shall be pre-approved by the city manager and or his/her designee.

(c)

Requests for parade routes and changes in parade routes. Any Mardi Gras organization may request a parade route by applying for and obtaining an authorization from the city manager, and or his/her designee. who shall have sole and final discretion whether to approve the parade route. Such requests should be submitted prior to August 1 of the calendar year immediately preceding the year in which the Mardi Gras parade is to be presented.
