§ 12-54. Persons eligible for permits.

  • (a)

    No electrical permits shall be issued to any person who is not the holder of a proper license.

    (b)

    Nothing herein contained shall prohibit any bona fide homeowner from personally installing electrical conductors or equipment within his own single-family residence, along with any out buildings, in the City of Galveston, a certification of which will be completed at the time of permit issue. The owner shall file with the city electrical inspector approved plans and specifications, satisfy the city electrical inspector as to his ability to install electrical wiring, apply for and secure a permit, pay required fees, do work in accordance with this chapter, and apply for inspection and receive certificate of approval.

    (c)

    Personal installation by an owner under these homeowner's rights, shall be by himself, for himself, without compensation and no person shall be employed to assist him in any way on such work.
